We need co-sponsors for the Babies Born Alive Protection Act and to the Defund Planned Parenthood Act

Representative Marc Lombardo (R-Billerica) filed HD 1570, “An Act relative to the protection for children born alive.” We call it the Babies Born Alive Protection Act.

Representative Joe McKenna (R-Webster) filed HD 67, “An Act relative to state funding of certain nonprofits” also known as the Defund Planned Parenthood Act.

Who would have thought that it would be necessary to file a bill in the state of Massachusetts that saves the lives of babies, and protects girls, women, and families? But it is necessary!

With passage of the Infanticide Act in the last legislative session, we must work to undo the worst parts.

If passed, the Babies Born Alive Protection Act, HD 1570, would:

• restore the requirement that a physician performing an abortion take all reasonable steps to save the life of a baby born alive during a botched abortion,
• raise the age of consent to get an abortion from 16 years old to 18,
• restore the requirement that all abortions be performed by a doctor and not allow physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and midwives to perform abortions.

Rep. McKenna’s Defund Planned Parenthood, HD 67, would prohibit state taxpayer dollars from going to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood has been implicated in the harvesting and sale of baby body parts from aborted babies.
