Oppose Mandatory Sex-Ed

Oppose the Sex Ed “Healthy Youth” Bill

Liberals in the legislature have once again filed legislation under the Health Curriculum Frameworks, which mandates a one-size-fits-all, graphic sex-ed curriculum for every public school. The bill is in Joint Committee on Health Care Financing (JHC) and needs to be opposed.

The time to end each legislative session is July 31st but unscrupulous legislators on Beacon Hill have voted to extend indefinitely the time to vote on this bill. Of particular concern, is any attempt to  vote on this after the election because it will be too late to hold them accountable for their vote. We need them to end the session before the November 3rd election day.

This sex-ed bill contains sensitive material  and fails to take into account the needs of students at different stages of development as well as the needs of different school districts. We need to let our legislators know that this legislation is unnecessary and that local school districts and involved parents should make these decisions.

This bill would force a state-mandated health curriculum on every public school in the Commonwealth, thereby eliminating choice for parents and autonomy for local school boards on what their children would be taught with respect to sexuality, contraception and abortion.

What’s in the frameworks? Recommendations that children learn how to hide abortions from their parents and instructions regarding how to utilize saran wrap—plastic wrap—instead of a prophylactic. It’s no wonder sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise if this is what’s being taught in many schools.

Parents and school districts deserve to be involved and have choices  regarding what their children are taught, rather than a one-size-fits-all, mandated  and extreme approach sought by the left.  We need to remind legislators today to keep sensitive topics out of the hands of advocacy groups and bureaucrats.

We urge you to tell your state representatives that you oppose a state-dictated, one-sizefitsall mandate, and oppose ending local control while empowering liberal advocacy groups.

Even if you have very little time,  please take 30 seconds  to quickly and easily express your opposition to this legislation TODAY.

Oppose Mandatory Sex Ed

The sex-ed bill HB 410, will make the Health Curriculum Frameworks mandatory for any school wishing to have a health-education program. Liberal activists are urging legislators to support the Frameworks, which take away local control from parents and school districts.

The Health Curriculum Frameworks would teach young children about abortion and graphic sex acts. Sections of the curriculum even recommend using plastic wrap as a prophylactic. How is that \"medically accurate\" or \"age appropriate\"? Parents should be deciding what\'s age appropriate, not government.

This debate about the health-curriculum frameworks is really about choice and autonomy for parents and families. There should be choices for parents and school districts regarding what their children are taught, rather than a one-size-fits-all, mandated approach sought by the far left.

I urge you to oppose a state-dictated, one-size-fits-all mandate, and oppose ending local control while empowering a few administrators and radical advocacy groups. Thank you.

Sincerely,
