The Sex-Ed bills, HB673 and SB2541, will require all public schools that offer comprehensive health education to use sex education curriculum approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

One such approved curriculum is “Get Real,” which is produced by Planned Parenthood! This curriculum, and others in the category of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, is a how-to in terms of engaging in sexual activity.

It would teach young children about abortion and graphic sex acts. Sections of the curriculum even recommend using plastic wrap as a prophylactic to 13 year-olds! How is that “medically accurate” or “age appropriate”? Parents should be deciding what’s age appropriate, not government.

This curriculum is pornographic and should not be codified in our laws, let alone taught to our children!

This debate about the health-curriculum frameworks is primarily about local control and autonomy for parents and families. There should be choices for parents and school districts regarding what their children are taught, rather than a one-size-fits-all, top-down, mandated approach sought by the radical left and Planned Parenthood.
